ABOARD SCHOONER WOLF
Designed by ADM Finbar Gittelman and other experienced blue water sailors, courses provide firsthand seamanship training aboard the Conch Republic’s Flagship WOLF that strengthen strategic thinking and team building skills.
Students gain a respect for the sea and forces of nature, learn the nuances of traditional sail, and develop an awareness of the importance of ocean, coastal habitat, and marine environmental protection.
Our goal is to continue to pique the interest of these students, in hopes they will continue learning the wonderful world of the ancient art of sail and consider a career at sea in their future.

Each participant receives course materials with suggested reading list, and a WOLF t-shirt and cap. Time underway counts towards USCG license requirements.
This program is a collaboration with local youth groups, the Conch Republic Navy, PeaceVision, WHALE Center’s Waves of Change Program, and local civic, business, and maritime organizations, including the US Propeller Club – Port of Key West, and Key West Maritime Historical Society.
